Calling the initiative a major step for farmers, he said it would help realise the vision of \u201cprosperity through cooperation.\u201d<br \/>\nWith the addition of these societies, the total number of cooperative societies in the state has increased to 2,573. The Chief Minister extended his wishes to farmers and said the government is promoting modern technology and cooperative-based approaches to strengthen agriculture and rural development.<br \/>\nThe newly formed PACS will function as multi-purpose societies, enabling farmers to access fertilisers, seeds, and short-term credit near their villages. The paddy procurement process will also become more convenient, allowing farmers to sell their produce at nearby societies.<br \/>\nHe informed that 2,058 existing societies have already been computerised to improve service delivery, and micro-ATMs have been installed, enabling farmers to withdraw up to \u20b920,000. Out of the 515 new societies, 197 have been established in tribal areas to ensure better access for farmers in remote regions.<br \/>\nThe Chief Minister added that these societies may expand their role in the future by supporting allied sectors such as dairy and fisheries.
